Yes, I am a single mom says the woman who was raped and couldn't find it in her heart to take the life of a baby who had nothing to do with it.
Yes, I am a single mom says the woman who had to run for her dare life because her supposed husband couldn't protect her rather he turned her to a punching bag at every little opportunity.
Yes, I am a single mom says the woman who for several years of marriage couldn't bear a child and was sent packaging but the next relationship she had got her pregnant and the man doesn't want the baby.
Yes, I am a single mom says the woman whose man sent her packaging because she didn't give birth to the sex of child he wanted.
Yes, I am a single mom says the woman who thought her man loved, cherished and adores her and will be walking down the isle soon but was disappointed to carry the baby all alone...
And the list goes on and on but society won't understand and doesn't want to see reasons.
And the list goes on and on but society won't understand and doesn't want to see reasons.
Sadly, society sees single mothers as nothing but loose women. Society sees them as part of the problems damaging the said society. Society deems them unfit to be mothers. According to society, when mother's day is been celebrated they ought not to raise their heads.
Hmmm...but why?
These women are both fathers and mothers to their kids. They are the bread winner, the cook, the gardener, the driver, the cleaner, the father, the mother, the friend etc their children have and knows.
Society has made even their children to carry a cross that they know nothing about or that they ought not to carry. Society has even given these children nicknames... Hmmm...But why?
These women deserve nothing but love. They have been broken, shattered into pieces but one way or the other they rose up and became super heroes to their child/children and even to themselves.
These women deserve love. They deserve to be happy. They deserve to be protected. They deserve to be assisted. They deserve to treated like Queens because they are even though the situation or circumstance they found themselves in says otherwise .
Don't be part of the society who is the first to cast the first stone, rather be part of the society who is the first to protect them from those trying to stone them. Be part of the society who will lend them your ears. If they tell you their story, you might not survive what they had survived.
Why not cease from being judgemental and embrace compassion because everyone deserve to be loved. Everyone deserve a second chance. Everyone deserve to be happy.
