Slut Shaming VS The Truth

#Life

The word slut shaming is not a news to us any more especially when the internet is concerned.
Some women are of the opinion that it is a crime for them to be slut shammed by their fellow women or by the men and by the world as a whole.

But we go deep into this article, let's first understand what slut shaming means.
Slut shaming according to geekfeminism.wikia.com ''is the act of criticising a woman for her real or presumed sexual activity, or behaving in ways that someone thinks are associated with her real or presumed sexual activity''

Many especially women or ladies believes that how they appear or what they wear gives no man the right to treat er like a slut or doesn't make her less of a woman. They have complained that they are being humiliated. However, been slut shammed doesn't stop them from being role models or from constantly receiving credit alerts or from being good mothers or good people as a whole.

Now the truth is this, the way you dress and the way you portray yourself is the way you will be addressed. Let's look at Adele for example. Do you mean to tell me that any man or woman will look at Adele and slut shame her?

So many questions come to mind and they are: Is Adele not beautiful? Is Adele not sexy? Is Adele not talented? Is she not a good mother? Is she not a good person? Is she not an entrepreneur? etc The answers to all the questions is YES, she is!

The truth many women may not want to understand is that you don't have to be naked or almost naked before you feel sexy, beautiful or attractive. The moment you begin to think that being naked is the only way for you to feel sexy or to be seen as sexy, is the moment you have:

1) Lost your self respect, and
2) An esteem issue.

Let's take Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton as examples:

Michelle Obama

Kate Middleton

These women have inspired and are still inspiring the world...but with their clothes on! They command respect everywhere they go. Every girl aspires to be like them. Their words of wisdom or action motivates millions of women including men out there.

You can be whoever you choose or want to be but when the consequences of your actions start knocking at your door, don't try to justify your actions because they are the result of what you did.

We as women have to inspire not just our fellow women but the men as well. The men,in the sense that, when they look as us, they say within themselves, I will train my daughter to be just like her or I aspire to have a daughter in law like her one day.

If you do not want to be slut shammed, then don't you think it is high time you stopped leaving little to the imagination in the name of feeling sexy and start dressing like the Queen you really are?

Now let me ask you this question, please do think hard before responding. Have you ever seen a Queen or a royal dressing semi naked or uploading naked pictures of themselves online? I remember, the time Prince Harry's photos and videos in Vegas went viral on the net. The palace was disappointed because a royal ought not to behave like that. He thereafter learnt form this.

You might say, ''well, I wasn't born into royalty. I do not have royal blood flowing through my veins''. The truth is, you don''t have to be born into a royal family to behave like one.
There is an invisible crown on your head always. Always act like the royal that you are. Always appear regal and in no time, a visible crown will be placed on your head.
