The Importance of Trust And The Dilemma Trust Can Bring

Before we go continue, let's define trust.

Trust according to is ''reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc of a person or thing; confidence''.

Trust according to is a ''firm belief in the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing; confidence or reliance''.

We  can all see that the 2 definitions are somewhat similar. However, there are 3 words repeated in the above definitions and they are:
1) Confidence
2) Integrity
3) Reliance

In a lame's man language, Trust basically means handing someone a gun and having confidence in them that they will not pull the trigger.

Trust in a lame's man language as illustrated in the picture above, also means having confidence in someone not to let go.

Love according to many, is the most powerful thing on earth. But trust, is the fuel that keeps love going. Trusting someone or people is one of the hardest things to do on earth because once you have placed your trust in someone, you have basically given them the key to destroy and the key to build you.

The thing is, everyone has a secret...everyone has secrets. Secrets that they do not want anyone to know and secrets that only a few persons in the world knows.

Keeping secrets is one of the most difficult things to do especially secrets that are so heavy to carry. Now, we get to a point in our lives were we are in a comfortable place to share some of our secrets to someone or to specific persons.

The moment, we have gotten to that place in our lives, we have now come to terms with ourselves to trust this individual/individuals in.

=> Trust makes you feel that you are not alone
=> Trust makes you feel that there is/are someone/people who understands and cares
=> Trust makes you feel loved
=> Trust makes you feel like a priceless treasure
=> Trust makes you feel wanted
=> Trust eases every pain and burden you have inside.
Aside from sharing secrets and easing pain, trust makes you feel a sense of oneness with that person or certain group of persons.
=> Trust makes you feel worthy or ''worth it''
=> Trust makes you feel important
=> Trust makes you feel valuable
Trust really is a priceless gift you can give anyone or anyone can give you.

When someone trusts you, he or she has seen you worthy to be trusted. He or she has chosen to give you a gun and is confident that you will not pull the trigger. He or she has given you the key to build and the key to destroy them, believing that you will only use the key to build them.
As mentioned above, trust is a priceless gift but at the same time, a very powerful weapon.

Trust however, is like taking a chance. You are completely clueless of what the outcome will be, if it will favour you or not. But you have decided to give it a chance. You have decided to take that life breaking or moulding chance.

It's been popularly known that one should never trust, till trust is earned. But the sad truth is, most times, people pretend to be who they are not in order to gain your trust, in order to for you to let them into your life.

Most times, people show you what you want to see and tell you what you want to hear. Most times people try their hardest to gain your trust. And once given a chance, once given an opportunity, they will pull the trigger, they will let go off your hand, they will break/destroy you.
That is why, trust takes years to build and a second to destroy.

The question now is, who can one trust? Is trust really worth it?

The answer is, Yes, trust is worth it. Yes it is, if you only trust in God.
The Bible says in Psalm 118:8 ''It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man''.
Micah 5:7 ''Put no trust in a neighbour; have no confidence in a friend; guard the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your arms''.
Jeremiah 17: 5 ''Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord''.

And if you want to trust anyone other than God, then you need God to decide for you and be your guide. Because you using your physical eyes, mind and sense of reasoning to know who you can trust will only end up ugly over and over again.

Be willing to trust but allow God be the one to decide for you and to determine who has earned your trust.

Trust is worth it, but try not to fall victim of trusting the wrong person.
