Welcome to another episode of In House Round Table Talk. I humbly need your views to make this episode a very interactive and educative one.
Every girl/lady enters into a relationship with the sole purpose of one day getting married to the man she is dating. However, there are countless stories of relationships lasting for 15 years, 11 years, 8 years, 3 years only for the man to break up with the lady or say he doesn't have it in mind to marry her but immediately gets engaged to his next girlfriend and thereafter marry her within the space of a year or 2 years.
This episode is to inspire and educate each and everyone of us (men and women) around the world not to stay in a relationship that is leading to nowhere or not to spend so many years of your life in a relationship that isn't leading to marriage. This episode is to avoid heart breaks that are beyond repair.
So I ask, how long is too long to be in a relationship without getting engaged? Don't worry, I will share my views too as always.
My View
The truth is, I really can't say. However I feel between 1 to 2 years in a relationship, by then, you should know exactly where your relationship is heading to. I can remember the late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya once said, as a girl you need to ask him some questions so that you know exactly what you are in for. You ask, are we dating? Are we courting? What exactly are we doing?
There are heart breaking stories that have been in the news lately, I won't mention names. A man was with a lady for close to 14 years or 11 years can't really remember. They had 2 children together and she hoped that one day they will get married. But the guy kept saying that he doesn't feel you have to get married to be in a committed relationship... After a while, they broke up and within a space of 2 years, the guy started dating another girl, they got engaged and rumours have it that they are currently married.
Another story that got to me, is a story of a good looking couple who have being dating for close to 8 years now. But the guy have no interest of getting married.
But at the same time, a broken relationship is better than a broken marriage. Right?
I don't know... I really want to hear what you have to say. Let's learn from one another. Let's inspire one another. Let's educate one another.
Don't worry, your views will be greatly respected and appreciated.

In relationship, two years is good enough to know where you guys are headed. So don't waste all your youth in a relationship.

DeleteWithin six months I believe a clear cut direction/idea should be in place.Know if this person is willing to take it further IF all else works out right and if the person is someone you'd want to be with.Else,no point prolonging
