Happy Valentine's Day! What Really Is Love?

Love... Love... Love...

Today is a day set aside around the world to celebrate love. 

Today is a day set aside to show love to your loved ones and  to people.

Today, by many means a day to lavish your loved ones with gifts, a day to spend quality time with your loved ones and also a day to appreciate them. 

However, love shouldn't be celebrated only on Val's day. Love should be celebrated everyday. 

If you have to ask someone who says he or she loves you for their time everyday or in most days/time then that really isn't love. Cos when someone loves you, he or she will always find the time to spend it with you. 

If it is only on Val's day you appreciate the one (s) you love by spending on them, then it really isn't love. Spending/buying gifts doesn't really have to be a Val thing. Spending/buying gifts means, you saw something nice or something in general and thought of the person you love and decided to buy it for him/her.

If you say you love someone but believe they are not good enough for you or that they have many flaws, then that really isn't love. 

Above all (1 Corinthians 13: 4-8),

Love is patient

Love is kind

It does not envy

It does not boast

It is not proud

It does not dishonour others

It is not self-seeking

It is not easily angered

It keeps no record of wrongs

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth

It always protects

It always trusts

It always hopes

It always preserves

Love never fails

...In it all, God is love. 

You shouldn't make Val's day to be all about your loved ones. Spend Val's day in charity homes too. Give love. Spread love. Appreciate love.
