Friday Inspirations: POSITIONING YOURSELF TO HEAR GOD'S VOICE by Michael Ojo

Before I proceed I would like us to understand that God is ever ready to speak to us. He said in Jeremiah  33:3 that "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not". It's also written in Revelation... ''Behold,'I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the
door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
These scriptures are confirmations that you have in your capacity the ability to hear from God and you're the one that decides whether you will hear from God or not. 

Whatever you spend your time on will surely grow. This is a natural principle that we all and it is applicable in all situations of life including spiritual things. If you spend your time solving mathematics, you will be better in mathematics. If you develop interest in fashion, whether you plan it or not, your fashion sense will automatically increase. These are natural laws that cannot be broken,in the same vein if you spend time with God you will surely grow in the things of God.

The reason some of us are dull in the things of God is because we fail to spend time in the place of prayer and meditation (we are always in a haste to get out and do something else. What's more important to you???), note that God speaks in a still small voice (He said you will hear a voice behind you. This voice is not lousy my
brother, you've got to be attentive to it). This should pass a message to you that YOU CAN'T HEAR GOD IF YOU'RE SO MUCH ENGROSSED IN EARTHLY THINGS. You need to create an atmosphere for the insight of God to reach you. 

God seeks a space in your heart and if your attention is on earthly treasure there won't be space for God to fill you (I love this song we do sing in our primary school days,INTO MY HEART-COME INTO MY
HEART LORD JESUS-COME IN TODAY-COME IN TO STAY-COME IN TO MY HEART
LORD JESUS -AMEN).  It's takes a willing heart to hear from God).

You wish to hear from God? If your answer is yes then YOU NEED TO POSITION YOURSELF TO HEAR FROM HIM.I so much love a word picture I copied from one of my friend on BBM, it says "FOR YOU TO HEAR GOD'S VOICE, YOU NEED TO TURN DOWN THE WORLD'S VOLUME". You see,the same way you can't listen to two music at a time, you cannot also be tuned to worldly station and expect to hear God's voice at the same time. I repeat "FOR YOU TO HEAR GOD'S VOICE, TURN DOWN THE WORLD'S VOLUME".

Make it a goal to be alone and position yourself to hear from God daily and the outcome will amaze you.

In conclusion, with my own little experience in life I can assure you that"IT IS SWEET TO HEAR FROM GOD AND WHEN GOD SPEAKS TO YOU-YOU WILL ENJOY IT. Sincerely, a life outside Christ is a very stressful life (why not taste Jesus and see how sweet He is).
