7 Secrets Behind A Healthy And Glowing Skin

#LifeStyle #Health

Hello Beautiful People,

Before I start, I would love to say that this article is not for the ladies/women alone, therefore the guys/men are very much welcome to read and be inspired.

Many a times we spend so much buying make-ups (to the ladies) for us to have a flawless and glowing make-up/look but the truth is that the secret to having a flawless and glowing make-up/look is not by how expensive our make-up/make-ups is/are but by how healthy our skin is.

Once your skin is healthy, your make-up and body glows effortlessly. It is really not about bleaching your skin. Beaching actually damages the skin and it is not healthy for the skin (this will be a post on its own later on). Ever noticed that there are people with pimples on their faces but their skin still glows? Why is that? This is simply because they have a healthy skin. A healthy skin does not mean having a spotless skin or a skin free from pimples cos one can have pimples as a result of stress, menstruation amongst others. This is really quite explanatory, right?

Below are the 7 secrets behind a healthy and glowing skin:

-Drink Lots of Water

Some of the functions of water is that it helps flush out bad and unwanted enzymes from the body and also it helps the skin glow. If you want to know more about the great benefits of drinking water, you can find out here >>>
-Drink Green/Natural/Healthy Tea

Drinking green tea goes a long way in helping us have a healthy and glowing skin. You can find out here >>> on the 16 secrets about green tea you never knew of.

-Moisturise

This is not for the ladies alone. Some men actually believe that they do not need to moisturise their skin, that moisturising is meant only for the ladies/women. Well, I am sorry to disappoint you. Lol. Moisturising is for everyone. Never underestimate the power of moisturising your skin. Aside from moisturising helping one have a healthy and glowing skin, moisturising also helps fight old age (that is, it makes one look younger).

How do you moisturise? Simple; Just apply body lotion/body cream to your body immediately after bathing or after washing your hands. The pores of our skin open after we have our bath or wash our hands and moisturising helps fill in those pores.  How do you moisturise your face? When applying cream to the face, rub the cream/lotion in an upward direction, like the picture shown below.

This helps prevent your face from sagging.

P.S- Ladies you know that you need to moisturise your face before wearing makeup right?

Nivea is actually a great body lotion/body cream you can use to moisturise your body. Nivea body lotion/body cream can be used by all skin types. I believe and know that there are other great body lotions/body creams out there. Do get a hold of one because the importance of moisturising cannot be overemphasised.

-Eat Clean

We do our skin a huge favour when we eat clean. Do take advantage of this. Want to have a healthy and glowing skin? Then start eating healthy. Healthy Eating = Healthy Skin.

-Exercise

I know many might not like this but exercise goes a long way to giving us that healthy and glowing skin we desire. It is not compulsory you go to the gym to exercise though going to the gym motivates you to exercise more when you see others exercising. If you do not want/cannot to go to gym, you can walk around/run in your neighbourhood, you could take the stairs instead of using the elevator, you could stand more (this will be a post of its own later on), you could squat (find out why you need to squat more here >>>  ) amongst others. These little exercises actually go a long way to giving you that healthy and glowing skin you desire.

-Wash Your Face Before Going To Bed

The men might say ‘’Well, I do not wear make-up’’. If you are not going to have your bath before you go to bed at night, at least be sure to wash your face. When you wash your face, you are actually washing away oil particles, dirt and germs amongst others that will prevent your skin from developing when you are fast asleep.

To the ladies, sometime ago, a tweet was tweeted by @AcneSkinSite that when we sleep with our make-up on, we tend to look some days older the next day. This is big right? If you notice, days when you sleep with your make-up on, you tend to see some roughness or pimples amongst others on your face.

-Last but not the least, Sleep

No matter how stressful, how busy your schedule is, you need to find time to REST (this will be a post on its own later on) by sleeping. Our skin works best when we are asleep. New skin cells are created when we sleep. It is advised or recommended to sleep for at least 8 hours a day but with the busy schedule of some people, 8 hours of sleep is pretty too much. Just try and enough sleep or sleep as much as you can. When you sleep, you are not only doing your skin a favour, you are also doing your mind, health and body a favour.

This is all for now, please kindly share this article with others. But if you think that there are things that needs to be added to the list above, please be kind enough to drop your comment before. This I believe will keep us informed and it will also have us inspired.

Be Inspired To Look And Feel Healthy.
