Please REST!


Yes, I know that I said you should Just Start! (find more about it here >>>) or Spread Your Wings And Soar Like An Eagle (you can find it here >>>) or How Bad Do You Want It? (you can find it here >>> ), but the bottom line of it all is that, no matter how hard you have worked, no matter how much you have earned, no matter how much you have attained, no matter the height you have reached, you need to REST.

The truth is, you need your life, your mental well being, your health to carry on right? And let's be honest, hard work drains your strength and energy right? Thank God hard work doesn't kill. Now I hope you are pretty much understanding where I am heading with this?

Below is a break down of what REST means and why you need to REST:


The importance of this cannot really be overemphasised. This necessarily doesn't mean sleep/sleeping. This means you just having a ''me time''. You relaxing your brain, your body and your mind. You can go to movies, read a book, exercise, treat your yourself, get a body massage, listen to music, mediate...Relax really. Just taking your mind completely off work, studies etc and just focus on you.


Many atimes, we get so lost in accomplishing a goal or a task that we create little or no time to eat and even when you do eat, you tend to eat unhealthy...junks and the whole bit. This as time goes on, starts to have a huge toll on you. Before you know it, you are always at the doctors been examined for one thing or the other.

Eating doesn't just mean eating anything. It means eating healthy. Eating healthy helps boost your metabolism, it increases your flexibility, it gives you a glowing and healthy skin  (you can find more on that here >>>).


The importance of this has so much been underrated and also underestimated. The truth is, this actually sums up everything that has to do with REST. If you relax, eat, tend to your needs (will later be explained) without sleeping, this will have a grave effect on you later on.

Have you ever noticed that when you don't sleep for a while, your head begins to ache pretty bad? You start thinking slowly, you get tired easily, you start to feel sick, you lose sight of what exactly you are doing and the least goes on and on.
Now I ask, what is the extent of working so hard if you won't have good health to enjoy the fruits of your labour?

Tend To Your Needs-

Yes, work, school, exams, projects, money are our priorities...Bills don't pay themselves right? Exams don't pass themselves right? Projects don't defend itself right? We need to get so many things done. We need to accomplish so many things. But at the same time, when you focus on these things, we tend to leave many important things unattended to. Our room is a mess, our kitchen is a mess, our laundry is mess, our clothes needs to be mended, our hair is a mess, we haven't had time to see, call or visit our loved ones, our prayer life is lagging behind and the list pretty much goes on and on.

You basically need to REST and tend to YOU! Take care of those things you know are unattended to.

When you are done with the above, you will begin to see yourself as a new person. You begin to feel so refreshed. Above all, enjoy life cos LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! (You can find a post on that here>>>).
